Looking at systematic ways to quickly develop positive working relationships with students.

Self Regulation
Meredith Medlicott & Lena Sage (Intervention & Support Resource Teachers)
We will review the definition of self regulation, why it is important for both students and staff. Cover some basic strategies to support the development of this skill including present moment awareness, mindfulness, self care, and specific strategies that can be used to support Self-regulation in the classroom

Improving Trustworthy Behavioral Measurements to Support Students’ Outcome
Theresah Boateng (BCBA)
To ensure positive behavioral and academic outcomes for students, the reliability, validity, and accuracy of data collected are paramount. To achieve these three indicators of trustworthy measurement, the workshop will explore the goals of behavior measurement, the importance of incorporating the concept of interobserver agreement as part of classroom assessment tools and its basic calculation, the current research outcomes on procedural fidelity and social validity, and their relevance in improving the behavioral and academic outcomes of students.

Classrooms of Respect and Inclusivity
School Climate
Using community building circles in the classroom can establish respect and inclusivity which will improve behavior and enhance instruction. A sample lesson plan will be shared.

Response Interrupt and Redirect (RIRD) and Functionally Equivalent Replacement Behaviors (FERB)
Travis Quintana (BCBA)  
A deep dive into using the Evidence-Based Practice of RIRD, as well as an introduction into developing effective FERBs when writing Behavior Intervention Plans.

Mindfulness for the Skeptic

This session will cover:
What is mindfulness
Different types of mindfulness
Some roadblocks
Ways to get started

Welcoming a Student Back after an Incident

Panorama Playbook
Dr. Kenneth Salazar
In this session you will learn practical strategies using Panorama Playbook to specifically help students demonstrate with the following Goal 4 survey question, “How often did you remain calm, even when someone was bothering you or saying bad things?”

Using the role agreement form as a guide the co-teaching teams will discuss and agree to a division of responsibilities

Backwards Planning  
Individual Session

Learn how to use backwards design to plan inclusive lessons, starting with standards and student outcomes and aligning assessments and instruction for all learners.
